About Calming Minds Collective

Welcome to Calming Minds Collective, a place dedicated to promoting positive mental health for children and teens. Our trauma-informed services are designed to support young individuals in navigating life’s challenges and fostering resilience. 

Emma is a registered Social Worker, who has 15 years’ experience in the community and social sector with experience across the areas of mental health, children and families, grief and loss and health and justice. She works with a trauma informed, strengths-based approach and has the ability to see the individual’s unique situation, skills and abilities. She is dedicated to building resilience and improving the lives of children and young people.  Emma appreciates that there is no one size fits all approach and aims to tailor her services to the individual. 

Outside of work Emma is a busy mum and wife who enjoys spending her time with family and friends, staying active and learning new things.

How can we help Children and Young people

Physical benefits: improves their strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination. It can also help children develop body awareness to assist with regulation

Mental benefits: improve focus, concentration, and self-regulation. It can also help children manage stress, anxiety, and emotions.

Emotional benefits: Yoga encourages children to connect with their emotions and cultivate a sense of inner peace and calm. It can help children develop self-confidence, self-esteem, and resilience.

Social benefits: Yoga can foster a sense of community and connection among children, as they practice together and learn to support each other.

Respect their decision, counselling is most effective when the person taking part is ready and makes the decision to engage themselves.

If not ready for counselling but willing to engage in some support. Check out our individual support services. These are tailored to the individual who doesn’t want to engage in traditional counselling, and include goal setting, therapeutic psycho education and support; all driven by the young person.

At Calming Minds Collective we deliver a range of psycho education and therapeutic groups that aim to upskill and promote positive coping strategies. Keep an eye out or be in touch for more information.

Calming Minds Collective support tweens (9-12 year) and teens (13-18 years) however cases can be assessed on an individual basis. yoga and some groups may be offered to younger children.

We aim to support children and young people showing early warning signs of anxiety, low mood, low self-esteem and other mental health conditions; those that have experienced trauma but are not ready for talking therapies and those that are on waitlists to access specialised mental health or therapy services.

Supports can be offered in a variety of ways including online, face to face in an office, outdoor, walk and talk or at home (location dependent).

Yes, it is important that your child or young person is aware of our services and that they are willing to consent to engage with our services before we meet or talk with them.

Support For Professionals

Yes, we offer individual and group supervision for social workers and community workers, please see the services tab for  more information.

We can tailor trauma informed practice training packages to your work placed. Based on the trauma puzzle training collection.
